Fernandinho has acknowledged that Saturday night’s Premier League match between Everton and Manchester City is “massive” for both clubs.

The Brazilian and his City team mates will be going all out to secure three points which will keep them on course for the title, whilst Everton still have an outside chance of finishing inside the top four.

Therefore both teams have lots to play for but Fernandinho expects his team to win, he told Sky Sports: “It’s a massive game for both teams,”

“We are trying to keep fighting for the title and need to play to win the game, which hopefully we can do.”

City will have to halt a poor run of form at Goodison Park if they are to ensure their destiny is in their own hands. Manuel Pellegrini’s team have lost on their last four visits to Goodison and Fernandinho knows a tough match is in store.

He added: “Everton are at home in front of their fans, and they are always good at home.

“The atmosphere is also good there, and they will play with a lot of intensity – we have to be ready for that. It will be a very tough game.”
