Guilherme Siqueira insists he did not see the altercation that lead to the dismissal of Lazar Marković and Mirko Vučinić in Benfica’s 0-0 draw with Juventus.
Late in the second half, a brawl broke out on the touchline with both Marković and Vučinić, who were not on the pitch, eventually dismissed by referee Mark Clattenburg.
“When I arrived it was all over,” Siqueira said to Sky Sport Italia, as reported by Football Italia. “It’s normal there is some tension in these games, but I didn’t see anything. The losing team have something to say, that’s to be expected.”
Marković’s red card was particularly costly as he will now miss the Europa League final, against Sevilla.
