Two second half goes continued Grêmio’s fine form in the Copa Libertadores this season and ensured their progression to the knock-out phases as they earned a 2-0 win over Atlético Nacional

On loan Dynamo Kyiv forward Dudu opened the scoring eight minutes after the interval before Argentine Hernán Barcos grabbed a crucial second to preserve the Porto Alegre sides unbeaten record in the competition.

In a tense first half the Brazilian side had to remain solid to keep the hosts Atlético Nacional at bay, who were especially inspired by a rapturous Medellín crowd.

However they made the perfect second half start thanks to Dudu, although Ramiro played his part too as he burst through, got to the byline, before cutting back for the Dynamo loanee to fire into the roof of the net.

Barcas made it two when he latched onto a loose ball and burst past his marker before finding the net to make it an excellent night for Imortal.

And they held out with relative ease to secure a third win in the competitions and all but guarantee a first place finish in Group 6.

They face bottom side Nacional in the last match and with the Uruguayans still searching for their first win in the group, three more points for Grêmio seems most likely next Thursday.
