Flamengo left back Andre Santos has been ruled out of the first leg of the Carioca semi final first leg against Cabofriense on Wednesday evening after sustaining a thigh muscle injury in the match against the same opponents in the final league game of the tournament.
Santos, who joined from English club Arsenal, is one of two injury worries, with Flamengo waiting on the fitness of key midfielder Elano for the away leg of the fixture, which could witness goals galore after the previous match ended 5-3 to Flamengo.
The Rio de Janeiro club are looking to claim their 33rd state championship, having last won in 2010. The winners of this tie will face the victors of Fluminense versus Vasco Da Gama in the final.
