Real Madrid and Brazil left back has decribed his team’s performance on Sunday as almost perfect, as they brushed aside the challenge of Levante with an extremely straightforward 3-0 win.

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo,Karim Benzema and Marcelo himself made light work of their Valencia-based opponents and Marcelo told reporters after the game that he was delighted with their all round game: “I don’t think that we were perfect, but we were pretty close We were slightly stronger after the break than in the first half. But the most important thing is that we did not concede any goals.”

“We could not afford to spill points against Levante (after Atletico’s win), even though we are not looking at other teams fighting for thr title.”

Real’s recent form, including a guaranteed Champions League progression to the last eight, has seen some pundits tipping them for an historic treble and after Barcelona’s shock defeat on Saturday, it edged closer to becoming reality.
