Cruzeiro’s Luis Felipe has been called up to the USA’s under-20 national team for a second time.

The American-born but Brazilian-raised midfielder trained with head coach Tab Ramos’ team in the early part of January and impressed during his short stint.

Ramos had spoken about his desire to have Felipe involved with the USA team again and his wish has been granted as the 18-year-old will link up with them before their upcoming tournament.

It seems likely that Felipe will feature in the Dallas Cup now, which runs from April 14th until 21st. Cruzeiro announced this news on their official website.

They also highlight that the Cruzeiro U20 player was one of the star performers in the Cruzeiro U17 team which impressed in the IMG Cup in December, a tournament which Felipe’s team won.

Felipe has spoken about his desire to represent the United States and it seems he will now get that opportunity at youth level at least.

The Cruzeiro youngster will at least play for the United States U20 team in a friendly fixture. Although he has been involved in training camps, the Dallas Cup would be his first taste of international football.
