Brazilian midfielder Anderson has spoke to the media for the first time since being unveiled as a Fiorentina player following his loan from Manchester United.

The 25-year-old has moved to Florence on a six-month loan and has spoke about why he moved to the Serie A club.

Football Italia reported his quotes after he spoke at a press conference today.

Anderson said: “Here in Florence there is a great project that convinced me to come.”

“I am here to do well, players like Batistuta and Edmundo have played here in the past and I want to be at the centre of the project and win things like I did in Manchester.

“I’m pleased to be a part of Fiorentina, a club that is fighting to be one of the top teams in Europe.”

Anderson, who will wear the number 88, aims to impress and earn a long-term contract with Viola.

He has spoken about his admiration for manager Vincenzo Montella and admitted he would even play in goal for Fiorentina.

“I’m here to convince people and to stay for the long term,” said the Brazilian.

“My favourite position? I’ll even play in goal if they ask me, I’ll do whatever Montella wants.

“I like playing in midfield but it doesn’t matter where.

“I like Montella, he has immediately put faith in me and I want to repay him on the pitch.”
