Botafogo have denied claims from Beşiktaş that midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro is set to join the Spor Toto Süper Lig side on loan.
Fogão executive Anibal Rouxinol insists the club have “no intention of loaning Lodeiro.”
Earlier today, Beşiktaş board member Ahmet Kavalcı was quoted as saying that a deal was almost complete and that Lodeiro had been scouted extensively by manager Slaven Bilić.
“Bilić and Önder Özen have kept tabs on Lodeiro for the past month,” he said, as reported by turkish-football.com.
“He plays for the Uruguay national team and we want to loan him until the end of the season.
“The transfer is almost a done deal, I hope he bring Beşiktaş success.”
Lodeiro joined Botafogo from Ajax in July 2012 for an undisclosed fee.
