Former Brazilian striker Ricardo Oliveira has entered into discussions to join Sao Paulo following his release from Abu Dhabi-based side Al Jazeera.
The 33 year-old, who won 11 caps and scored three times for the Selecao between 2004 and 2007, had been playing in the Middle East since 2009.
He came to Sao Paulo on loan in 2006 and again in 2010 and now looks set to rejoin the Tricolor on a permanent basis ahead of the start of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
Speaking with lancenet.com, Oliveira said: “To play again in Brazil is a possibility, but I also have other conversations. I’ll think with my family and decide what is best for us.”
Available on a free transfer, Oliveira would team up with fellow veteran Luis Fabiano should he move back to his homeland.
During his time in Europe, the striker won the Champions League with AC Milan in 2007, as well as La Liga and the UEFA Cup with Valencia in 2004 and the Copa del Rey with Real Betis in 2005.
