Hellas Verona Director of Sport Sean Sogliano has confirmed that Napoli have bid for midfielder Jorginho.
Reports earlier today had suggested the Partenopei were interested in the play-maker, with Head Coach Rafael Benítez admitting as much, but Sogliano’s comments are a first acknowledgement of a concrete enquiry.
“I can confirm we have received an offer from Napoli,” he told CalcioNapoli24.it.
“There will be some news soon, we are evaluating it.”
Jorginho, who was born in Brazil, but is expected to represent Italy at international level, has been one of the standout performers this season. The 22 year-old has scored seven goals in 18 appearances to aid Verona’s surprise push for a top six finish.
