Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has held talks with Porto midfielder Fernando, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The sports daily claims the 26 year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, met with Galliani during his time in Brazil.

Internazionale, Liverpool, Manchester United and Napoli have all been linked with with the Alto Paraíso de Goiás-native, who is unlikely to agree a renewal, but Milan seem to have stolen an edge on their rivals.

Galliani’s decision to contact the player directly, rather than negotiate with Porto, would suggest he is pushing for a free transfer in the summer, rather than looking to bring Fernando to Milan this month.
