Santos will decide this Friday when and where the presentation party for new signing Leandro Damião will be.
Despite this being the only addition the Peixe have made to their squad prior to the forthcoming season, the club is said to not want a big party and have confirmed that it will not be held at their Vila Belmiro stadium.
The club is negotiating with two venues in Santos city centre. One of them will be chosen to host the event which will be open only for a few guests including raffled partners and press.
The club’s desire is to unveil the signing in a less extravagant fashion than has become the norm and are thus leaning towards a somewhat more traditional approach.
The 24-year-old Brazilian international was confirmed as a new signing on 16 December after being bought by the investment fund Doyen Sports for R$ 42 million and then transferred to Santos on a five-year contract.
The ex-Internacional forward is the face of Santos’ latest marketing campaign as the club prepares personalised shirts of which they expect to sell many in January.
