Osmar Loss, the former head trainer of Internacional’s youth academy, believes Alexandre Pato can get back to his best next season.

Loss was integral in Pato’s development as a youngster at Inter and believes the 24 year-old will benefit from being injury-free this term, despite having a largely unimpressive campaign.

“His performance was well below what he is capable of, but even so he is back on an upward curve,” he told Gazeta Esportiva. “I think this season was a lot better than his last two or three in Europe because he went through the whole year without an injury.”

“I strongly believe he can get back to his best next season if he decides to stay at the club.”

Pato, who has been linked with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, scored nine goals in 30 appearances for Corinthians this season.
