Former Arsenal defender, Gilberto Silva, feels that Arsenal can cause an upset and beat the European champions in the next round of the Champions League.
Silva, who signed for Atlético Mineiro this season after a successful six year career in England with Arsenal back in 2008 where he left for Greek side, Panathanikos.
And speaking with GOAL.com in Casablanca before a semi clash with Raja Casablanca in the Club World Cup, feels that Arsenal can cause an upset by beating Bayern Munich.
“I hope that Arsenal can do well in this comparison. Sure to be a tense and tough match for both teams, but I’m confident that Arsenal can repeat what they did in the Allianz Arena last season.” Said Silva referring to Arsenal win last season.
Silva also feels that the Gunners are in the running for the title, and the only challengers being Chelsea and Manchester City for the Premier League title.
“The biggest challenges for Arsenal in the search for the title will be Chelsea and City who are the teams that Wenger should pay more attention. ”
