Barcelona defender Martín Montoya believes Neymar can challenge to be La Liga top scorer.
The Brazilian netted as Barça beat Cartagena 3-0 in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday.
Neymar now has six goals in his last three appearances. Montoya insists the 21 year-old has finally silenced the critics who said he didn’t score enough for Barcelona.
“Media said Neymar couldn’t score, but he answered in the last two games,” he said, as reported by Football Espana.
“If he keeps it up, he’ll be fighting to be top scorer.
“Neymar is happy here and helping us a lot – it’s as if he’s been a part of the group for a long time.”
Neymar has six goals in 14 La Liga appearances for Barcelona this term.
