Internazionale defender Juan Jesus has insisted he will only accept winning the Scudetto this season.
Inter are currently 4th, eight points adrift of leaders Juventus.
“I wouldn’t take third, but I’d take first,” he told Sky Sport Italia, as reported by Football Italia. “That’s because Inter deserve to always be in first place.
“I trust my team, we’re all doing our jobs, each and every one of us. We need to take things one match at a time and see where we are come the end.”
Inter have been rebuilt under new head coach Walter Mazzarri this term. Juan has been impressed with the tactician and expects him to remain at the club for a number of years.
“We also have an intelligent coach,” noted the 22 year-old. “He understands Italian football well, he also looks at us as individuals and speaks to each of us.
“He’s a great Coach and he will be for a long time to come. He’s doing well because he’s helping the team and the team will help him.”
Juan, who has been capped four times by Brazil, joined Inter in January 2012 from Internacional. He has made 12 appearances this season.
