Kaká has admitted he was “not expecting” Milan to defeat Celtic so emphatically.

The Rossoneri departed Celtic Park comfortable 3-0 winners. Kaká opened the scoring with a header on 17 minutes, before second half strikes from Cristian Zapata and Mario Balotelli sealed the victory.

Kaká was surprised, but delighted with Milan’s performance in a crucial match.

“Tonight’s victory is extremely important regardless of our previous results,” the veteran told uefa.com. “It is an essential victory and we achieved the result we wanted.

“For me, the biggest surprise was the result. I was not expecting it to be like this, but this shows the way we played. We worked hard to get a good result and in the end it was a fair score and we deserved it.”

Kaká has seemingly been reborn since returning to Milan. He now has three goals in ten appearances this term.

The 32 year-old, signed on a free transfer from Real Madrid in July, admits he’s happy with his current form.

“Every day I feel better, every game I feel better,” the Brazilian enthused. “I am happy with the way I’m playing and with the way things are going. I’m scoring lots of goals. I feel fine and I’m happy.”

With Ajax’s surprise 2-1 victory against Barcelona, Milan still need a point to progress. They host Frank de Boer’s side in their final Group H match on Wednesday 11th November.
