Fluminense striker, Fred, has been pointed as a new signing for Brazilian Champions Cruzeiro.
Cruzeiro are looking to strengthen their squad for the 2014 season after completing the league title and cup double this season.
Fred seems to be their first port of call, a source close to the President, who remains unnamed has said: “Fred is a strong name, he is in the plans and the athlete also admitted interest in returning to the club. He’s already played for Cruzeiro, feels good here. Already exists a pre – contract, but we still have to wait. reports Esportes“
The 30 year old is still under contract at his current club and Cruzeiro president, Gilvan Tavaras, has been quoted by the source saying: “The president has said many times that has no conditions. Fred has a contract with Fluminense and this takes away any chance of business with the Cruise.”
Fred scored 41 goals in 43 appearances for Cruzeiro, and the club feels this is needed once again.
