Willian says he is delighted to be included in Goal.com‘s 50 best players in the world following excellent form with both Shakhtar and Anzhi last season.
The Brazilian joined fellow compatriots such as Fernandinho in the list published by the online football website and says he is flattered by the inclusion.
“It’s a huge satisfaction to be part of this list,” Willian told Goal.com. “I always try to do my best to achieve that kind of acknowledgment. I’m thrilled for having been chosen among the best 50 players of the season.”
Fluminense striker Fred claimed Brazil has ‘always been a cradle for football, where you have a new player every day,’ and Willian agrees that the country’s game is continuing to thrive.
“Brazil has always had top players and every moment there’s a new prospect appearing somewhere.
“The Seleção also did superbly at the Confederations Cup and the team has been improving recently. I’m sure we will keep on forging great players.”
