Its looking increasingly likely that Brazil will play Chelsea in November as a climax to the Blues’ centenary celebrations.

The game will suit Parriera, who has been trying to arrange games against top European teams, before next years world cup finals, but has been finding it hard to find opposition willing to face the World Champions so close to the finals.

The cost to Chelsea will be around £1.2million – more than double Brazil’s usual match fee.

In return, Brazil will host a full-strength squad, including Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Adriano and Roberto Carlos -all elite players Abramovich has tried and failed to sign for Chelsea.

November 16 has been set aside for one leg of the World Cup qualifying play-off between the winners of the Oceania zone and South America’s fifthplaced nation, Brazil have not officially announced the fixture but an announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
