Thiago Alcântara made his debut for Bayern Munich yesterday, playing an integral part in the team’s 4-0 win over Hamburg.

The midfielder, who led Spain to the Under-21 European Championships title this summer, joined the German club last week and made his first appearance for the side since reuniting with manager Pep Guardiola at the weekend in the semi-final of the Telekom Cup.

Goals from Thomas Muller, Mario Mandzukic, Jerome Boateng and Toni Kroos were enough to see the German champions into the final against Borussia Monchengladbach, reports Football Espana.

The 22-year-old son of Brazil World Cup winner Mazinho signed a 4-year contract for a fee of €25 million from Barcelona last week.

He was later joined by his brother in leaving the Camp Nou, with Rafinha joining Celta Vigo on loan.
