Chelsea are lining up a bid for transfer listed Bayern Munich midfielder Luiz Gustavo according to reports in England.
TalkSPORT claims the Blues are looking to snap up the Brazilian after it was reported that Gustavo was considered surplus to requirements at the Allianz Arena.
However, a stumbling block for Jose Mourinho’s side could be the player’s reported price tag of £17 million.
Mourinhos is reportedly looking to overhaul his squad with the current destroyer John Obi Mikel said to be on his way out.
Gustavo would be a like for like replacement for the Nigerian star but it remains to be seen of Chelsea will press ahead with a move.
The Brazilian is a key part of the Seleção side that clinched the Confederations Cup in June after a stunning 3-0 victory over Spain in the final.
Mourinho has already added Andre Schurrle to his squad and looks set to pursue Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney who is said to be unhappy at Old Trafford.
