Inter Milan are back in the race to sign Wellington from São Paulo thanks to Galatasaray turning their attentions to the signing of Felipe Melo.

The Italian club have been linked heavily with a move for the 22-year-old this summer, but were reportedly out of the running after the Turkish club had reportedly reached an agreement with the Brazilian club.

However, with Galatasaray now keen to sign Felipe Melo from Juventus, Wellington’s arrival would be blocked due to the Turkish side having no available openings to sign foreign players.

Sky Sport 24 reports that the Nerazzurri are now back in the running to sign the defensive midfielder.

Wellington is a product of the São Paulo youth system, eventually becoming a first team player in 2008. He has since gone on to make 63 appearances while scoring two goals for the club.
