Thiago Alcantara has revealed that he will not consider his future at Barcelona until after Spain’s European Under-21 Championship participation is over.

The midfielder, of Brazilian heritage, has struggled for playing time at Camp Nou and has recently been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

However, Thiago, who is currently preparing for the international tournament in Israel, has made it clear that he is not considering his future just yet.

He said: “As I live my life, I am very happy. I really enjoy being at Barcelona because my experiences have been very good.

“We’ll see how things are after the European Championships."

Thiago also played down rumours suggesting compatriot and Under-21 team-mate David de Gea wants him to join United, who made informal enquiries regarding his availability two years ago.

“Each player wants what is best for their team. Like I say that hopefully he [De Gea] will come to Barca, he says the same about me," he added.

“I think it is not something to take too seriously."

It is understood that Thiago’s buyout clause is now at €18 million, after a clause in his 2011-signed contract dropped it down from an original €90m figure.

As such, a number of clubs are monitoring his situation at Barca and could make an official approach this summer.
