Brazilian World-Cup star Careca is to make his debut for Garforth Town Football Club this Saturday (30th) against Unibond Premier League side, Guiseley AFC.
The 44-year-old, former Napoli strike partner of Maradona, will wear the yellow number nine jersey and is part of a new-look Garforth side that begin their five match pre-season this week.
Garforth Manager, Simon Clifford, said: “This promises to be a fantastic day for all concerned with the club. We are delighted to be able to welcome Careca and are certain that he will have a positive effect on everyone connected with Garforth.”
The club are hopeful that the star will play again this season and follows in the footsteps of Socrates who played for Town against Tadcaster Albion in November of last year.
