Guangzhou Evergrande forward Elkeson has told reporters that he hopes to develop his game in a similar manner to Cristiano Ronaldo after his bright start to life in China.
Having set a new league record with 10 goals in his opening five games of the 2013 season, Elkeson also took time to praise his teammates for their contribution to his effort.
Saturday"s fixture between Evergrande and Changchun Yatai brought a further hat-trick for the free-scoring forward.
However, with comparisons being made to some of Brazil"s great forwards, the former Botafogo man instread picked Portugal"s Cristiano Ronaldo as his rolemodel for further development.
"I"m thankful to my teammates by my side—Barrios, Conca, Muriqui, Gao Lin etc. It"s those guys who allow me to get close to goal and allow me to calmly shoot at goal," Elkeson told reporters.
"I am not used to making predictions [about goalscoring], goalscoring is a natural process. I normally don"t have to think about these things, I just think about how to help the team win—there are many potential champions waiting for us.
"ll players are talented, but I put a lot of effort in. Investment always brings returns. It"s only when you you put in effort that you get good results.
"I am a Brazilian and Brazilians all have an attachment to Ronaldo, so he is my idol. My target, though, is to develop in the same way as Cristiano Ronaldo, but the gap between us is big at present, of course."
