Cruzeiro"s board are confident they can complete the signing of high rated Vasco defender Dedé soon as negotiations are still underway.
The centreback has previously been linked to Milan and Corinthians, but Cruzeiro are the only club currently negotiating with Vasco, according to Dedé himself.
Cruzeiro"s director of football Alexandre Mattos talked to press about the negotiations, he said: “Cruzeiro fans know our board, they know we make things happen, like the other players that are already in the club. We"ll do our best, I just ask them to be calm and trust us that things will work out."
He added that it"s not a done deal yet: “we are trying to do out best, bring the best players, the negotiations are underway, but it"s not done yet, it"s a tough negotiation, I"m confident but we have to wait a bit."
Alexandre Mattos explained that investors are also involved in the negotiations, he said: “Actually, besides the money, there is the investor, who owns 55% of his rights. And there is Dedé too, so many things are involved. I"ve been here [in Rio de Janeiro] since Monday and will remain as long as necessary to finalize the negotiations with a happy ending or not."
Cruzeiro are also interested in other players, he said: “Besides all that, we are also working with other stuff, as football is dynamic and we need to pay attention."
