São Luiz coach Paulo Porto claims that his side were hard done by and did not deserve the five goal thrashing given to them by Taça Piratini winners Internacional.
Leandro Damião inspired Internacional to a 5-0 rout with two fine strikes but São Luiz feel that their play deserved more.
Coach Porto spoke to reporters last night: “We missed a lot of chances, we couldn’t keep up playing good football and we paid the price. Still, it was far too big a margin.
“There were few opportunities, but Internacional were ruthless,” said the man who guided Caxias to victory in this competition.
Internacional now have a week to celebrate before the second stage of the Campeonato Gaúcho starts next weekend.
The Taça Piratini winners will face Canoas while São Luiz will have to pick up the pieces of their campaign against São José.
