The man who discovered the talents of the Da Silva twins for Manchester United claims that Fabio is unlucky not to be a regular starter for the club.

Fabio is currently at QPR on loan after failing to secure a starting berth while Rafael is enjoying an extended run in the first team at Old Trafford.

But Les Kershaw belives he has a future at Old Trafford and will do as well as twin brother Rafael.

“Both Rafael and Fabio (who is currently on loan at QPR) have done very well,” added Kershaw.

“Fabio has been unfortunate really because his way has been blocked at left-back by Patrice Evra.

“Rafael was luckier because as he was coming through, a vacancy arose at right-back with Gary Neville’s retirement.

“There have been one or two filling in there while he’s matured, but it has been up for grabs and Rafael has now taken it. In the last 12 months he has very seriously matured and that impetuosity has been tempered. He’s a winner and has a great future.”
