The CBF have confirmed that Brazil will play their fourth friendly of the year at the newly rebuilt Mineirão stadium, Belo Horizonte, against Chile on 24th April.
Brazil, who lost their opening match of 2013, and the first of Luis Felipe Scolari’s second spell in charge, to England last month, are currently preparing for the Confederations Cup which will take place in Brazil this summer and have friendlies lined up against Italy, in Geneva, and Russia, in London, in March.
The CBF’s president, Jose Maria Marin, his 99.9% sure the game will take place and has chosen to host the game at the Mineirão after they decided to move Brazil’s friendly against France in June away from Minas Gerais to instead be played at the new Grêmio Arena in Porto Alegre.
As the game will be played outside of the official FIFA dates, it will be unlikely that Scolari will have the option to call up players based outside of Brazil, meaning the domestic based players will get the chance to impress the coach ahead of this summer’s tournament.
