Juventus are interested in signing Brazilian attacking midfielder Alex Teixeira from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer after cooling their interest in Manchester United winger Nani.

Italian daily sports newspaper Tuttosport are reporting that Teixeira, 23, who can play on the wing or as a number 10, has been identified by the Turin giants as the ideal creative force to add to their side for next season.

Juventus have already secured the signing of Spanish international striker Fernando Llorente from Athletic Bilbao for next season and are looking to bring in another creative player to help make the difference in Europe.

Teixeira grew up through the youth ranks at Vasco da Gama and made his first team debut in May 2008, aged just 18, in a 1-0 defeat to Internacional.

He quickly caught the eye of European scouts with his performances for the Rio club and moved to Shakhtar in 2010 for a fee of €6million. This season he has become one of the key players for coach Mircea Lucescu as Shakhtar progressed through a tough Champions League at the expense of Chelsea to play Borussia Dortmund in the first knockout stage, drawing 2-2 in the first leg earlier this week.
