Grêmio defender Bressan only made his senior debut on Wednesday against LDU, but he could not hide his excitement ahead of his first Gre-Nal this Sunday.

Bressan, 20, grew up as a Grêmio fan in a Grêmio household and knows the importance of Sunday’s clash against their fiercest rivals.

“The anxiety of my debut has passed, but playing a Gre-Nal is what I wanted most,” he told Lancenet!

“We know the importance, regardless of the team you play. It requires even greater concentration. We can confirm why Grêmio brought us here.” he added, referring to himself and left-back Alex Telles, both of who joined from Juventude.

“My grandfather, who we have lost, was a Gremista. It’s a dream what I’m doing, I intend to repay the trust placed in me by my family.

“Gre-Nal is different, nobody is here to ride, we all seek our space. It’s a different game. Dimension too large. It’s the game of your life.”

The biggest challenge that Bressan will face on Sunday is marking Inter striker Leandro Damião, a player the young defender see’s as someone who has trodden a similar path to his own.

“I know him well, he is a player of the Brazilian National Team. It is very difficult to mark, to follow him.

“He began in a way similar to me, no one knew him and today he got to where he is. You have to have concentration at all times. He is a very important player, but he is not only important player for the International.”
