Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has revealed that he is selecting M’Baye Niang ahead of Robinho, as he doesn’t know if the Brazilian will still be at the San Siro next season.

The Italian coach was speaking to the press after his side claimed a 1-0 win away to 10-man Atalanta, thanks to a goal from Stephan El Shaarawy.

Robinho, who recently stated that he hopes to spend many more years with the Rossoneri, was brought on for the final five minutes of the game, while 18-year-old Niang almost played the whole 90 minutes.

Allegri said: “I don’t know if Robinho will still be here next season, so for the moment I am choosing Mbaye Niang because he gives me more guarantees.”

The Brazilian, who previously made it clear that he wanted to leave the San Siro and return home, came close to rejoining former club Santos before negotiations broke down earlier this month.
