Liverpool target Philippe Coutinho has revealed his desire to remain with Italian giants Inter.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has been the subject of interest from the Reds, who reportedly had a bid of around £8 million rejected by the Nerazzurri.

Recent reports suggested that Liverpool were ready to up their interest as Inter increased the starlet’s price tag, however, Coutinho himself has now played down any possible move.

He told Sky Sport Italia: “The offer from Liverpool? I’m happy about all of these requests because it means that people like the work I’m doing.

“But I believe Inter have faith in me and I want to show what I’m worth here.

“We young players – myself, Juan Jesus, Marco Benassi, Daniel Bessa and others – can sense the confidence that the Coach and club have in us.

“All my thoughts are on recovering from injury as soon as possible and coming back.”

The youngster has only made five Serie A appearances for Andrea Stramaccioni’s side this season but impressed during a short-term loan at Espanyol in Spain last season.
