Chelsea midfielder Ramires hopes to be called to the latest Brazil squad under new manager Luiz Felipe Scolari, when the selection is named next Tuesday.

Ramires, 25, had dropped out of the Brazil setup completely under previous manager Mano Menezes following the 2011 Copa America, but forced his way back into the side after the 2012 Olympic Games.

After impressing for his Chelsea side on Sunday as they beat Arsenal 2-1, the former Cruzeiro player was quick to discuss his excitement at Brazil’s upcoming international fixture with England.

“To be called to the seleção is a great honour and I always hope to be on the list,” Ramires told reporters. “We all wait for it with expectation, but you have to be calm about it also.”

Regarding his side’s performance at Stamford Bridge, he added: “We put in a great performance in the great performance in the first-half and we deserved the win.”
