Clarence Seedorf returned to Brazil to start pre-season training with Botafogo on Monday and raring to go for the new season according to his teammates.

Seedorf, 36, who joined the Rio de Janeiro giants last July after leaving AC Milan, was given an extended break by the club for the close season but has returned ready to help push Botafogo towards a title challenge this season.

“He arrived on Monday, full steam ahead,” midfielder Gabriel told Lancenet!. “Already talking with everyone and fooling around as he used to do.

“He will help us a lot. The boys know they need his experience. He is very important inside and outside the pitch for Botafogo.”

And new Botafogo signing Henrique, who joined from São Paulo earlier this month, was delighted at meeting the Dutch star.

“It’s great to have a player like Seedorf in our group. Little by little, I will know him more. He talks a lot with the players. I had a great impression of him.”
