Paris St-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti has praised Lucas Moura ahead of the Brazilian forward’s move to France next month, describing him as “the future of this team”.

Moura, 20, will join PSG for a fee of €45 million in January from São Paulo and Ancelotti cannot wait to add the youngster to his squad.

“Lucas is a great player,” he told reporters from the club’s winter training camp in Doha.

“He’s young and will be the future of the club. He has many qualities and will have no problem in having a relationship with the other players.

“Additionally, he can play in several positions. He can be used on the sides of the field or behind a striker. We are happy, because it was not easy to hire a player as important, which can further improve the team.”

The former Chelsea manager admitted that the forward will be the only player to arrive at the Parc des Princes this winter and also revealed that some player’s will be allowed to leave.

“Lucas is the only player to arrive. My coaching staff believes the team is very good and also very competitive.

“To manage a squad of 30 player’s is tricky. I’ve told the players that if they want to leave the club, we can think of it, but today there is nothing official.

“Some players have already asked to leave, but nothing was confirmed.”
