Internacional striker Leandro Damião says he is very pleased to have played in the Match Against Poverty, despite being booed by the Grêmio supporters.

The 23-year-old scored the winning goal to help Ronaldo’s side overcome a team captained by Zinedine Zidane 3-2 in Porto Alegre.

World Cup winner Bebeto and Caca Ferrari also scored for the Brazilian team, whilst futsal star Falcao and Zidane grabbed the goals for the opposition.

Damião says he is very pleased to have been able to participate in the game and help raise funds for charitable projects in Brazil and Africa.

He said: “I was moved. I never dreamed I would be here.

“Lot of players wanted to participate in this friendly match.

“I am very pleased to have been able to participate, even more so that I was there to do a good deed and not hurt.”
