AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri hopes Robinho will “be professional” despite transfer stories linking him with a return to Santos.
The Brazilian has revealed he wants to return to his homeland and former club Santos, who have recently tabled a rumoured bid of €6million.
However, the Rossoneri are not willing to release Robinho for less than €10million and therefore hope the striker will continue as normal at the club.
Allegri said: “He is proving decisive again this season with assists and goals. He always puts in strong performances.
“We’ll see what happens in January, but I hope and believe that we won’t lose Robinho. He’ll show what a great professional he is.”
Santos president Luiz Alvaro de Olivieira Ribeiro has revealed the club will continue their pursuit of the 28-year-old.
He said: “We made an official written offer for Robinho. We received a response from Milan. But negotiations continue. They are not over yet.”
