Former Inter and Roma striker Adriano has admitted that he misses the world of Italian football.

The troubled Brazilian, who is currently without a club after leaving Flamengo last month, has spent the majority of his career in Italy, including five years at Inter Milan.

Adriano has told Gazzetta dello Sport that his years on the peninsula were the best of his career and that he does think about returning.

The 30-year-old said: “I do think about a return to Italy. The best moments of my life were there.

“I have great memories of Italy. At times I speak with my former Inter teammates and I also heard from one of my former coaches the other day.

“I have nostalgia for the food, the people and the fans. I will never forget my time there.”

The former Brazil forward played for other Serie A clubs such as Parma and Fiorentina, but his best football came with the Nerazzurri, who he still follows.

“They are part of my life,” he added. “I watch them on television when I get the chance. I saw their win over Palermo.”

Adriano intends to resume his career at the start of 2013 with an, as of yet, unidentified Brazilian club.
