Manchester United’s Anderson has been sidelined for ‘a few weeks’ with an hamstring injury sustained during the club’s 4-3 win over Reading.

Anderson was forced off before half time during the win and Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that the injury will rule him out of the next few games.

“It’s a hamstring unfortunately. He’ll be out for a few weeks,” said Ferguson. “He’s been playing really well and scored a great goal today. I’m very disappointed for him.”

Anderson had forced himself into contention and netted the club’s first goal in last night’s win to justify his selection.

The Brazilian’s injury has added to Manchester United’s injury woes as he joins Nani and Shinji Kagawa on the physio table.

The 24-year-old’s injury comes at a bad time as Manchester United now face city rivals Manchester City next weekend.
