Corinthians got their first win of the championship season this weekend, scraping a 1-2 away win at Atletico Paranaense, Curitiba.

Playing for the first time since ex-coach Daniel Passarella was fired, Corthinians had a bad start going behind to a stunning free kick. MSI Director Kia could only watch from the stands as his team, struggled against the lowest club in the league.

But interim coach Marcio Bittencourt rallied his men and substitute striker Bobo and midfielder Marcelo Mattos scored a goal each in the second half.

The win, Corinthians’ first in this year’s Brazilian championship and ended the team losing streak.

Last in the 22-team standings, Atletico is the only team to have lost all four matches this year and hadn’t lost to Corinthians in the national championship since 1998.
