Paulo Henrique Ganso has been deemed fit to travel to Chile for São Paulo’s Copa Sudamericana semi-final with Universidad Católica on Thursday.

Ganso, 23, made his long-awaited debut for the Tricolor during a 2-1 win over Náutico on Sunday having arrived from Santos with a thigh injury.

The Seleção star managed to play the last 38 minutes of the game and travels to Chile with the same plan in coach Ney Franco’s mind.

He said: “Ganso travels to Chile, with the same methodology.

“The idea is to use him during the game and part of the plan is to give rhythm to the athlete. He is at our disposal, as in the last game.”

Ney Franco also confirmed that defender Rafael Toloi will travel after recovering from a left ankle injury suffered in the game on Sunday.

São Paulo completed a dominant victory over Universidad de Chile with a 5-0 victory at the Morumbi to confirm their place in the semi-finals, with the first leg scheduled to kick off at 22:15 BST on Thursday.

The Tricolor will be hoping to move one step closer to a place in the 2013 Copa Libertadores, which is offered to the tournament victors.
