Santos coach Muricy Ramalho has advised young starlet Victor Andrade to work on the mental side of his game.

Victor Andrade, 17, has been tipped to replace Neymar when the Seleção star eventually moves on from the club.

However, Ramalho has opted to keep the youngster on the bench for a number of games recently as he believes Andrade still needs to improve.

The coach said: “I had a long discussion with him. I took a lot of time explaining that he still had a lot of work to become a great player.

“He must learn the word humility. I told him the truth.

“He has much to learn and needs to erase many defects. He needs to improve.”

There were reports of a rift between Santos officials and Andrade last month after the striker appeared on the bench for the club’s Under-20.

The club are rumoured to be unhappy with his media profile, with the player having done several TV and radio interviews in recent times.

The young Seleção star has two goals to his name this season, having appeared 17 times for ninth-placed Santos.
