The president of recently promoted Paysandu, Luiz Omar Pinheiro, confirmed to Lancenet on Friday that he will meet with Palmeiras in São Paulo to discuss the sale of right-back Yago Pikachu.

Pikachu, 20, has been one of the Série C side"s outstanding players this campaign and has been linked with a move up the divisions for some time.

With Palmeiras looking for a new right-back, following the sale of Cicinho to Sevilla in the summer, manager Gilson Kleina would only confirmed that the uniquely named full-back had been offered to the club.

“The president of Paysandu called me – offering him," Kleina told reporters.

“I passed it on to [Cesar] Sampaio, but it has leaked to the press that there is interest. He has scored 12 goals and is one of the highlights of the team."

The revelation of the club"s potential transfer activity before the start of negotiations for the player is just the latest embarrasment for a club that is no stranger to board-room leaks.
