Santos are currently sitting in eleventh place in the leage table but are already planning for next season. And head coach Muricy Ramalho has warned his team they need to improve if they want to stay at the club next season.

He told Lancenet: “We analyse up a whole season, but football is about now. Suddenly, a game can change the opinion of the coach and everyone, all the time they have the opportunity, you must train and playvwell. I’ve seen happen several times a future change in a practice or game.”

The board and the manager have warned the squad that they aim to strengthen the group with some big names and have been linked with AC Milan star Robinho, Wolfsburg playmaker Diego and Pablo Aimar of Benfica.

“We are looking for but it is difficult. We are looking fondly and you may have a surprise coming soon.”
