SC Bastia goalkeeper Magno Novaes is very happy to have taken three points from the previously unbeaten Bordeaux yesterday.

Florian Thauvin scored two goals within 20 minutes and inspired the recently promoted side to a 3-1 win against Bordeaux, who were unbeaten in their first nine league matches.

Yoan Gouffran pulled one back for the visitors on the half-hour mark when his volley was beaten away by the Brazilian goalkeeper, but the midfielder followed up to slot home with his second attempt.

The three points were secure when Wahbi Khazri curled a free-kick into the top corner to make it 3-1 in the 56th minute.

Novaes said: “We were keen to win this game at home to improve the point against Ajaccio.

“We’re all happy to have taken three more points that are good for us.”

Bastia moved into 11th in Ligue 1 with the win and are currently preparing for games against Auxerre and fourth-placed Lyon over the space of five days.
