Fluminense striker Fred has stated that the league leaders need to concentrate more during the final five Brasileirão games.
The league’s leading scorer, with 16 goals in 24 appearances, criticised his side’s performance during their narrow 2-1 win over Coritiba 2-1 on Friday.
Fred stated that the game should have been over in the first half but Fluminense allowed the 12th-placed side to fight back and almost earn a draw.
The forward believes his side need to improve this aspect for the final run-in of games.
He said: “The pressure at the end of games is something that makes me a little worried.
“Football is solved every day in more detail and we have to stay focused from start to finish.
“We know we have to avoid this final pressure in the coming games.”
Fluminense are currently nine points ahead of nearest rivals Atlético Mineiro, although they have a game in hand, and travel to São Paulo for their next game.
