QPR’s Julio Cesar is playing through the pain barrier with an elbow injury according to reports in the English media.
The Daily Mirror reports that Cesar, 33, will need surgery at the end of the season and club officials are hoping that the injury will not get worse.
But with eight months of the season left, it is feared that the injury may get worse prompting a possible recall of former England international Robert Green.
Green was infamously displaced by Cesar despite having signed for QPR to be number one in the summer.
The Brazil goalkeeper recently joined Premier League club QPR in August from Inter, and immediately made an impact replacing Green as number one.
QPR are struggling this season, lying bottom of the table with just two points from seven games having lost 3-2 to high-flying West Brom in yesterday’s fixture.
The former Brazil international enjoyed success with the Seleção, making 64 appearances and winning the Copa América.
