Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed rumours claiming there is trouble in the Paris Saint-Germain dressing room, after Thiago Silva reportedly said he preferred playing alongside Alex instead of Mamadou Sakho.

The former AC Milan defender, who was signed for €42 million this summer, made headlines when he claimed that Alex possessed more international experience than les Parisiens‘ captain.

However, Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed the rumours, stating that the Brazilian international, who has since apologised, did not mean such things.

The former Chelsea boss said: “Thiago is a player and an intelligent man and I do not think he has said these things.

“All combinations [between Thiago Silva, Alex and Sakho] are good. We have three central defenders in very good condition.

“Alex is in good condition, and rested against Bastia. He can play three straight games."

Thiago Silva, who has only made three appearances for PSG due to a thigh injury, was recently interviewed by French newspaper Le Parisien, which is where the quotes came from.

Silva reportedly said: “Sakho and Alex are two players with a lot of quality.

“The big difference between the two of them is that Alex is more experienced.

“I have to admit that even though I feel fine with either of the two next to me, I am more relaxed when I play alongside the more experienced guy, which is Alex."

Ancelotti and PSG are currently preparing for tomorrow"s Champions League clash with Porto.
